Provider Payment Mechanisms update
February 2012
The PPM track recently convened a costing collaborative in Bangkok, Thailand with representatives from all JLN countries. Country costing experts made presentations about their current or planned costing initiatives, and explored different costing methodologies, their advantages and disadvantages, and how countries have adapted them to meet constraints. This group will continue to collaborate virtually on the new JLN collaboration site www.jointlearningnetwork.ning.com. The team will share the results from this meeting as soon as they are available.
The team is looking forward to the upcoming Provider Payment Experts’ Group meeting, co-hosted by the WHO, the World Bank, and the PPM track at the end of this month, which will convene PPM experts from numerous organizations to collaborate on the draft diagnostic tool and strategize around its applications in countries seeking to initiate PPM reform.
Additionally, the track plans to begin a workshop series with Vietnam in March around PPM reform needs and strategy.
